Problem’s Solution

In Cool Edit Pro 2.0 (next we’ll call it CEP 2), there are many features that you can find on this software, you can use it for everything about sound. You can do many things with this software.

Maybe sometimes you confuse about saving files if you get the source with low bit rate quality, you just can save it not as good as the high quality source. Usually, if I have a low quality bit rate like 56 kbps with frequency 24 kHz, the highest quality I can save just only 56 kbps too if I use Constant Bit Rate (There are two types options when you save your files, there are CBR means Constant Bit Rate and VBR means Variable Bit Rate). I still can use the highest quality if I use VBR, but the frequency is still same like before. Firstly I can confuse how to convert it to the higher quality, but I can solve this problem.
You can follow these steps :
- Put your sound file into the multitrack
- Go to menu edit and choose Convert Sample Type
- It’ll appear some options, you can set it by your own, but the default setting is sample rate on 44100 Hz, channel Stereo, with resolution 16-bit. If you turn on mono, you have to set the mixing of the speakers out. After that all, click OK
- It’ll take several minutes to process and rebuild the waveform of the file, and it worked automatically by itself
- After done, you can set the sample rate quality like usual again.

Other Problem

Maybe you’ll meet the problem sometimes when you insert your file. Sometimes, CEP 2 detect the sound files with format mp3, wma, wav, etc. as PCM or RAW data. If you open that, it’ll appear some options set like Convert Sample Type. When you accept that, the waveform will come out, but you can do nothing. You can do anything with that file (like play it, convert it, cut it, etc.). but don’t worry, because I’ll give you the solution about this problem.
Please follow these steps :
- First, you have to install WinAmp to help you to solve this problem (if you don’t have it, you have to install or download it for free on the internet)]
- Open the music file with WinAmp
- Go to menu Options and select Preferences
- After that open, choose menu Plug-ins and select Output
- Click Nullsoft Disk Writer v….. (the version is variation, it’s about your WinAmp version) then click configure or use double click
- Choose the output file location
- Don’t thick single fit mode enabled, because it just convert the file as Wav format
- Choose the option Conversion and thick Convert to format then select the type of the format you want to convert.
- Please wait a second when WinAmp convert it
- After the convert is done, you now can use the file and CEP 2 can read detect the sound file like usual.

Convert File

In Cool Edit Pro 2.0 (next we’ll call it CEP 2), there are many features that you can find on this software, you can use it for everything about sound. You can do many things with this software.

And now, how to convert our file or make a better sound? It’s simple to do. The first step to convert the file is insert the file into the multitrack click menu file and save as, you can rename the title of the file, on the option save type, you can select some type by clicking the arrow button on the combo box. After you choose the type of the file, you can configure the quality of the file by clicking the options button (under the save type list) then choose which quality you want… and converting file is done.

Better Sound

In CEP2, you can manage the sound file to have better sound too, the first step, you have to block on the waveform part anywhere you want or select all by press ctrl+a (not in play mode) and go to menu effects, choose amplitude then choose amplify (one tip again, I think the good sound is when the waveform just only touch the line on the above or under the waveform) you can set it by insert or change the number in the box, if you want to increase the db (means decibel, the unit of the sound) you just need to insert the number, but if you wand to decrease the db, you have to put minus (-) mark ahead the number and click OK. The process is fast, and if you want to go back before the change, just press ctrl+z.

Effects

If you want to give the effect of your sound files, you can add it by your own, block the part of the waveform where you want then go to menu effects then choose Delay Effects, after that you can do on your own, there are many effects you can choose, you can set the bypass on or off too if you want, to hear the result before you process it, click the preview button to hear the preview of the sound, if you sure about that, then click OK.

Reduce Hiss

Sometimes, your sound files has a noise or disturb sound (like ssssssssssttttttttttt) too noise right? You can disappear it. Go to menu effects and choose noise reduction then select hiss reduction. After that, you can select the grade of the reduction from low to high and click OK if you sure about that then you can feel the sound is cleaner than before.
